About Me
Originally from Franklin County, Virginia (near Roanoke) I adopted North Carolina as my home base in 1981. I have lived and worked in the three most populated areas of North Carolina—Charlotte Metro, the Piedmont Triad and the Triangle Region. This is my second time living in Charlotte, the first time being a three-year stay from 1981 to 1984. My wife and I live in South Charlotte.
For 22 years I worked in public sector planning and land use regulation, principally as a zoning, subdivision, and environmental ordinance administrator. Main responsibilities included review of development proposals through the public hearing process, writing public ordinances and regulations for presentation to and approval by elected and appointed boards, performing annexation studies, reviewing private development restrictions and covenants for projects, and issuing zoning approvals for commercial, industrial, institutional, and residential types of construction building permits. My experience in dealing with land use issues in general, as well as the approval process associated with the placement of projects ‘on the ground’, is a valuable insight that I offer when advising and assisting clients with real estate transactions.
A four-year veteran of the United States Air Force, I graduated from the University of North Carolina-Greensboro (UNCG) with a Masters Degree in Public Affairs. My undergraduate degree was also obtained from UNCG in Business Administration after study at the American University of Paris (France) and the University of South Carolina, among others.
Some of my previous work experiences include computer technician for General Motors engine control modules, import/export management in the furniture industry, private consulting for Thai leather manufacturer, door-to-door research surveys, and graduate research pertaining to university/defense industry relationships throughout the United States.
My primary interests and hobbies include travel, golf, watching thoroughbred horse races, ballroom dance, wine studies, and learning about new things. Additionally, I enjoy landscaping, gardening, and a casual interest in following sports teams from the State of Virginia.

The 2009 QE Award recognizes the Top 10 Companies and the Top 10 Offices in North America for delivering the highest levels of service quality and customer satisfaction. Quality Service Certification, Inc. and Leading Research Corporation of San Juan Capistrano, CA have identified 10 leading companies and 10 leading individual offices in North America that, according to consumers, deliver the best service quality and customer satisfaction.
The 2009 QE Award is based upon the results of an independent survey of every closed transaction for participating real estate agents in a 17 month period- from January 1, 2008 through June 30, 2009. More than 25,000 real estate agents and 500 companies participated in the customer satisfaction assessment survey process. The survey process is administered by Quality Service Certification, Inc., and Leading Research Corporation, San Juan Capistrano, CA. Surveys provide feedback on both the assessment of overall satisfaction and the satisfaction with key details of service. The QE Award is based upon the aggregated overall Customer Satisfaction Rating of all returned surveys. Consumers can review agents’ independently validated overall Customer Satisfaction Rating by visiting www.QualityService.org.
Eligibility for the QE Award requires a minimum number of surveys sent and returned. Some companies will claim to achieve similar levels of excellence though they neither measure their service results nor have any substantive, objective evidence to support such claims.
“The QE™ Award is based upon feedback from 200,000 consumer surveys of more than 500 participating companies and their 25,000 real estate agents,” stated Larry D. Romito, CEO of Quality Service Certification, Inc. (QSC).
Helen Adams Realty of Charlotte, NC has been recognized at a 2009 Top Ten in the nation QSC® service provider. The firm is also the only real estate company in the nation to win the award for three years in a row, in 2007, 2008 and 2009.
“We are honored to be recognized for the third year in a row for being a Top in the Nation QSC® Service provider. This award adds strength to our conviction that the standard of excellence in sales in any industry is about delivering the highest level of personal service. This simple approach to business is the essence of Helen Adams Realty, and our culture is the reason for our success.”
“Our agents asked us to search for ways to quantify the service we provide, and QSC® was the solution. The QSC® program allows us to measure the service we provide against the service provided by more than 500 real estate firms and 25,000 real estate agents from across North America. The QSC® program helps us to focus on what we do better than the vast majority of our competitors, and this is the path to greatness. The QSC® program allows us to measure our performance through the eyes of our customers. Measuring our service gives us tremendous power, because it gives us the knowledge of how we are doing which in turn allows us to continually improve.” Jeff Adams, President, Helen Adams Realty, Charlotte, NC
“For an industry that continues to define excellence in terms of millions of dollars of sales, we are interested in recognizing excellence based upon superior customer satisfaction and measurably superior service quality – a standard consumers prefer as well,” stated Larry D. Romito, CEO of Quality Service Certification, Inc. (QSC)
The picture is clear – consumers want performance transparency, higher accountability and independently validated service quality and customer satisfaction information in finding and selecting a real estate service professional. Prospective customers also like to see comments from actual past customer experiences. All of this is now available to consumers who visit www.QualityService.org .
Consumers can find real estate agents and view their independently validated service and customer satisfaction assessment at www.QualityService.org. Participating agents and companies voluntarily elect to have every closed transaction evaluated without the ability to influence, control or invalidate results through an independent survey process administered by Quality Service Certification (QSC).

On Saturday, September 19th, from 2-4 PM, there will be a Neighborhood Open House featuring three great homes currently for sale. Come tour close-in Woodbridge and see why folks love this neighborhood! The homes are located at 1730 Shagbark Rd. (MLS #881337); 2008 East Barden Rd. (MLS#877774); and 1323 Wandering Way (MLS#861002).
Woodbridge is so close to the best shopping in Charlotte!
South Park Mall and Phillips Place are minutes away. Ditto for Harris Teeter’s flagship grocery located at Morrocroft Village. A family favorite restaurant just down Fairview Road is Brixx Pizza- wood fired pizza made to order. And don’t overlook The Fresh Market, a terrific specialty grocer. Check out their meat department! My son and I grilled over an open campfire a memorable Fresh Market bought rib eye we willingly carried in our backpack this Labor Day while hiking 26 miles along the Appalachian Trail in the high country surrounding Mt. Rogers, the tallest peak in Virginia. Residents of Woodbridge don’t have travel or strain that hard to enjoy the same!
I just wanted to share the wonderful experience I had using Curt Seifart as my agent. From start to finish he was excellent and is someone that I still call on from time-to-time to answer questions. I am a real estate agent in California and Curt taught me what real client care is. I can't say enough good things about him. Even if I had my license in North Carolina I would use him.
Thank you,
Hannah
